Between Dream & Reality
Eclipse season is upon us, starting with a total “blood” lunar eclipse and supermoon at 05°25′ Sagittarius. This Full Moon in marked by a T-Square between the Sun, the Moon and Jupiter in the mutable signs of Gemini, Sagittarius and Pisces respectively, as well as by Mercury, who is about to station retrograde in Gemini. Amid the confusing and hypnotic state of retrogrades, the lunar eclipse in Sagittarius brings grounding and concrete outcomes.
On 5 May 2020, the north (Rahu) & south (Ketu) nodes moved into the signs of Gemini & Sagittarius respectively, where they will be staying until 18 January 2022. With the nodes in the mutable Gemini-Sagittarius axis, we have embarked on a new collective chapter around the themes of truth, information, education, learning, thinking, language, communication, travelling, beliefs, ideologies and law.
Lunar eclipses occur when the Earth gets between the Sun & the Moon, temporarily blocking the Sun’s rays from reaching the full Moon. Full Moons are highly emotional times, but lunar eclipses bring about a more grounding Earth energy. Nevertheless, a lunar eclipse is a full Moon “on steroids”, so its effects are often manifested abruptly on the physical plane. It is a time of closure, great climaxes and obvious conclusions. On a personal level, the house at 5° Sagittarius in your natal chart shows in which area of life a chapter is now ending.
On this lunar eclipse, we have a T-square between the Sun, the Moon and Jupiter in Gemini, Sagittarius and Pisces respectively. Jupiter is the focal point of the pyramid. The energy of Pisces challenges our beliefs systems, dissolves our established thinking patterns and submerges our mind with new information. As Jupiter is the planet of magnification, the energy can be overwhelming. It is important to find a balance between what we hold for certain and what are merely influences from external sources. Pisces reminds us that knowledge is infinite, and that what we know is only but a small fragment of what there is to learn. Your truth is your unique perception and interpretation of the world, guided by your inner voice and the forces that you choose to work with.

Mercury is stationing retrograde in its home sign of Gemini from 29 May to 22 June. Gemini season is marked by this retrograde, thus converting the Gemini themes of communication, networking and learning into an internalised process. This Mercury retrograde is the perfect time to re-evaluate, review and reflect on how we communicate with others, what we have learned so far, how we express ourselves, our mental activity and thinking patterns. It is also an opportunity to establish a strong connection with the inner voice and to work on our inner dialogue: How do you speak to/with yourself? How often do you listen to your inner voice?
A square to Neptune in Pisces on this lunar eclipse makes it difficult to distinguish between what is real and what is not. Mercury square Neptune transit can make reality feel like a dream, our minds may be foggy, we may be confused about the simplest things and prone to daydreaming.
Most planets are in mutable signs. These transits highlight the importance of being adaptable to unforeseen circumstances and staying open to change. Mutable signs know how to blend and adapt to any situation, they can navigate the most turbulent of waters, as well as adopt matching behavioural patterns to the people they engage with. This Gemini season is the perfect opportunity to work on our mutable skills and abilities.
When I reach the boundary
of Mind and Mystery,
I remind myself of the beauty
that manifests, inevitably,
in times of great uncertainty.
🌕 Happy Full Moon & Lunar Eclipse 🌕
