The word theobroma is derived from the Greek words "θεός" and "βρῶμα", literally "Food of the Gods". Cacao has been consumed by the indigenous peoples of Central and Latin America since ancient times.
Cacao has taught me the importance of ritual and presence. I owe my grounding, connection and creative flow to this sacred plant. Her teachings are profound, her medicine gentle and her help precious.
I usually begin my day with a cup of cacao. It is a sacred time, during which I am present and free. In that moment, I am grateful for everything - every breath, every movement, every thought, every emotion. In that moment, I feel at peace and connected to my being & the cosmos.
This morning, Cacao showed me that magic is found in the little things and simple moments. There was a tiny Milky Way in my cup, little planets floating in liquid space. A close-up reveals psychedelic patterns on the bubbles. I am awed, filled with wonder and moved by the beauty of the scene.
Mother Earth cares for the wellbeing of her children, so she put the medicine in the food. The food that you consume feeds your body, mind and soul. Let food be thy medicine. 🌈
